Welcome to Jim Richarson for Lake County School Board

Hi, I'm Jim Richardson and I am running for the Lake County School Board, District 2.

Many have asked, "Why are you running?" The answer is simple. I have lived in Lake County most of my life. I was born in Lake County and I am a product of the Lake County School System and graduated from Leesburg High School in 1981.

I understand the importance of a good education. It is the foundation of a child's future and we must be second to none in making sure that each Lake County child receives the best education possible .... while not financially breaking the taxpayer. Lake County and its school system will face many challenges in the next few years. The pressures surrounding school expansion, teachers' salaries and benefits and keeping our schools safe are just a few of the issues which we will face.

I believe my experience as a business owner, long time Lake County resident along with my family's commitment to public education gives me a unique ability to provide the needed leadership to guide our school system to successful solutions that provide our children with the educational experience they deserve.

I have two daughters in the Lake County School System, one a junior at Leesburg High School and the other is in the 8^th grade at Carver Middle School. My wife is also a teacher at Carver Middle School. Our family is devoted to helping insure that our school system is strong and the learning environment is safe while challenging our students each day to reach their potential.

I am committed to this effort and look forward to talking with you further about how we can, together, make the Lake County School System the envy of the great state of Florida.
